Description
An iron black lacquered Menpo made in the noble ryubu style. The hanna-no-ita nose section is removable and held in place via two iron pins. The cheeks have yadome (erect flanges) to keep the helmet cord in position when worn. Black yak hair kuchi-hige moustache. Under the chin is a tsuyu otoshi no kuda extended drain pipe. The mimi ears are hinged and crafted to resemble bamboo.
The left side of the mask has a gilded inscription and kao bearing the signature of the famous myochin smith Nobuie.
The two lame neck guard is iron made in the form of kirisuke konzane laced in the sugake style with hishinui cross knots. Connected to the mask via a a komori tsuke band of stencilled deer hide.
